German railway company Deutsche Bahn buys 300 trains in the single largest order ever, But pays only when the trains are flawless. eutsche Bahn chose to give the mandate to Siemens to supply a fleet of 300 trains. They are called so far ICX and will form the back bone of the future German passenger transport by rail.
 

No reports the newspaper Bild am Sonntag newspaper that the railway company puts pressure on the manufacturer Siemens to overcome the quality deficiencies that affected the current express trains, which are mainly built by Siemens.


According to the newspaper, Siemens will not get paid until you have proven that each train rolls flawlessly for two months. Siemens, in turn, should have ensured that the axles should last at least four million kilometers.

 

The trains will be built so that air resistance is reduced. Compared to today, energy consumption reduced 30 percent with current speed. The first trains will be delivered from 2016. They have a top speed of 230 km / h. Trains delivered later get maximum speeds of 250 and 280 km / h. higher speeds than this are not considered economically feasible.


Deliveries will continue until 2030. The order is on 195 trains worth 6.3 billion Euros.
