Saab family is a fine old family with a strong family feeling. The question of the Saab name should be resolved within the family, says the administrator Kent Hagglund which handles the brand issue in the Saab bankruptcy.
Kent Hagglund has been responsible for issues relating to the Saab brand, figurative mark Gripen and Saab dominant firm and the surrounding issues. The right to use the name Saab and its symbols is governed by a tripartite agreement between the airline company Saab, truck manufacturer Scania and car company Saab Automobile. This is a very complex situation with many agreements that regulate trade issue. I represent in this matter Saab Automobile, said Kent Hagglund to new technologies. Kent Hagglund cooperate with the other two in bankruptcy but has an independent mandate to deal with name rights in bankruptcy estate assets to be divested. Our opinion is that the whole of the estate is worth more than the parts. My starting point is that the brand will be transferred to a new owner of Saab Automobile. But as I said, this should be resolved "within the family," says Kent Hagglund to new technologies. General Motors has no right to the Saab brand and symbols? GM has nothing to do with it, says Kent Hagglund. Name The problems began when the Automotive Division in the then Saab Scania was spun off of Saab Automobile AB and the U.S. production line at General Motors became a half owner of the 1990th. Five years later disbanded Saab Scania two companies - Saab AB, aerospace and defense, and Scania trucks. Another five years later, General Motors' full ownership of Saab Automobile. The agreements between the three parties governing the rights, duties and responsibilities each has to protect the name and help each other and build the brand. |
