After Easter, the first copies of the exclusive Fisker Karma electric car roll off the production line in Finland. 3000 people waiting in line for several years but everyone will get their car before the year is over.

It has now been three years since the Danish car designer Henrik Fisker and Bernhard Koehler, his partner, attracted attention at the Motor Show in Detroit with the exclusive creation Fisker Karma a large four door hybrid bil with a design and a force of a sports car. Henrik Fisker and Bernhard Koehler had started the company Fisker Automotive a year earlier. Both have a long experience in car design and car making.

The mission to manufacture Fisker Karma eventually went to Finland's Valmet Automotive in Uusikaupunki on the west coast of Finland.

Valmet Automotive is an experienced car builder who previously made the Saab convertible, which now builds the Porsche cars, Fisker Karma, the Norwegian electric car Think City and golf car Garia.

A month ago, started the series production of the Fisker Karma and after Easter are the first cars were ready to be delivered, according to a press release from Valmet Automotive.

Production will be at full capacity for the fall and all those who queued and paid the down payment on his car to get his example "in model year 2011," writes Valmet Automotive Ilpo Korhonen, the press release.

Fisker Karma is both in a pure electric car version and a hybrid version.

Both versions are lithium-ion batteries with an output of 200 kW and dual electric motors totaling 420 hp. Both engines drive the rear wheels.

The hybrid version is also a two liter petrol engine of 260 hp, which drives the generator which supplies power to the batteries.

Fisker calls its series hybrid system for the Q-Drive. The petrol engine never drives the wheels directly, but only the generator.

In pure electric version has Fisker Karma a range of 8 mile.

The hybrid version will increase the range to 40 mile. The petrol engine is started after five miles of electric power to recharge the batteries.

Anyone who wants to feel pulled by two powerful electric motors get their fill from zero to hundred in 5.9 seconds.
