New Swedish submarine A26 to become Navy's most feared and modern submarine.  Primarily built super Stalker for Swedish needs. But Kockums is also aiming at a large export market.

About six to seven years, it sneaks up in the Swedish or foreign waters. Maybe watching the coastline against intruding submarines might exercise one tactical skill by gliding silently and unnoticed for passenger ferries.

With an upgraded and more compact Stirling engine can stay underwater longer than the current Swedish submarines.  The hull shape will make it even more resistant to explosions under water. The tower designed to reflect off the radar, and the hull may be a specially treated surface to absorb sound.

In this way, your signature, audio and other signals that can reveal the submarine under water, smaller than today's Gotland Class.  Still managed to submarine Gotland in 2005-2007 successfully challenge U.S. aircraft carrier in the cat and mouse games in the bay off San Diego, California.

Through a unique port in the bow, it can also undetected channel out divers, sensors or spying mini-submarines submerged.

Something like this think of the manufacturer, the new Swedish Kockums submarine A26, which is developing on behalf of FMV, FMV.  Parliament took the summer 2010 decision to procure two new submarines.  By late 2012 planned construction of the first to launch.

The development of communication systems are surrounded by secrecy, but according to Kockums reach a new level. The submarine can maintain communication when you want, without revealing himself, says Per Nilsson. Head of Business Unit at Kockums Submarine.

A26 is ready on the drawing boards and the most important systems are specified.  The final design is decided, however, only when the ongoing procurement of subcontractors is completed. All systems, except for battle management and network systems supplied by Saab AB, is competitive.

Very Swedish techniques are used. Kockums submarine built using steel from SSAB. Sensor technology has been developed with the help of Defense Research Establishment and Kockums own experts. The bright decor in Nordic style has been developed by including researchers at Lund University to raise the submarine's endurance by making life more comfortable for the crew.

Norway has previously been discussed as a buyer or partner in a new submarine project. But now it is being built primarily for Swedish needs, says Per Nilsson.

While we build it in a module, which allows us to customize the submarine to foreign customers, he says. The submarine is designed to operate near coasts, but also the ability to ship overseas. It is small in relation to the major submarine powers nuclear submarines.

Per Nilson would not single out a few other countries as potential future buyers but believes the market abroad is "very large". He would not identify A26: a worst competitor. But similar development projects there, such as the French-made Scorpene class, the Russian Lada-class German and 212 - and 214 classes.

All these are, like A26 diesel electric, with air-independent propulsion system that provides long-range submerged. While A26 is driven by Kockums Stirling engine, which is on oxygen and diesel powered several of the other fuel cell and hydrogen.

Already in the early 1990s, the idea of a new Swedish submarine, called "submarine in 2000." In the mid-00s, it was found that two submarines in Sodermanland class needed to be replaced, and the project resumed. The first A26-ball will be delivered in 2018 and the second the 2019th FMV will negotiate the price for the construction phase later next year, but it has been said that they must not cost more than 1.5 billion pieces.
