 The car can be controlled with the power of thought and run fully automatically and detect obstacles in their path. By the EEC sensors placed on the head with a driver drove his car through the use of mind control. Researchers at the Free University of Berlin have managed to maneuver a car with the power of thought. The project is called Autonomo. It has made use of sensors to measure currents in the brain, electroencephalography (EEG), and measured how the waves look like when a subject is thinking "left", "right", "accelerate" and "slow". The researchers managed to develop an interface to connect these signals with a previously reconstructed computer controlled car, and conducted tests on the now defunct airport Tempelhof. It began with the test subject was taught a computer to move a virtual cube forward, left or right and to stop it by signals from the EEC-sensors. In this way the computer was trained to interpret the driver's wishes. Since the computer was connected to the operation of the car - steering, throttle and braking system. According to Prof. Raul Rojas leading Autonomo project is very pleased with the outcome. The car was driving as the driver had in mind, with only small delays in the reaction. |
