- A sunny day, the car roll steadily at 90 km / h all day, writes Mit's Solare Electric Vehicle Team at MIT's website.

The car's electric motor powered by a battery that loads of silicon photovoltaic industries. The battery has the capacity to take the car from Boston to New York, over 30 mil, a rainy day without sunshine.

Eleanor is longer than previous versions and gives the driver a more upright position than previous cars.

But even though the car has 30 percent more surface area the wind has the same aerodynamic values as the old, thanks to a more efficient design as tested with wind tunnel test.

Should Eleanor compete in World Solar Challenge in Australia in October. As training for the contest will Eleanor to get across the U.S. this summer.
