In the mid-2000s was the Danish car designer Henrik Fisker and scrapped at his home in California. He wondered how he would realize the dream of making his life a car. Fisker had already designed the masterpiece that Aston Martin DB9 and BMW Z8 roadster, but he wanted to present something even more startling. When the world has been made aware of climate change and the auto industry went to a deep crisis, the time was finally ripe.
Luxury car brand Fisker Automotive Karma was born and car model unveiled
at the Detroit Motor Show 2008th. A four-door plug-in electric car
design and performance of a sports vehicle. Two electric motors produce
full 403 horsepower and a turbocharged gasoline engine generator
supports.
It gives impetus to pack with lithium-ion batteries, which
are located along the car's center. Since the gasoline engine drives
the generator and not the rear wheels, the car is in fact an electric
car with a so-called range extender. With this system, Fisker Automotive
called the Q-Drive, the car a range of 48 mil.
In the interior you will find details such as recycled wood from storm-affected forests, as well as leather and textiles produced in an environmentally and animal friendly way. The glass roof of the car contains solar cells that help to power air conditioning and sound system. This in turn extends the range. Fisker Karma touches the ground with 22 inch wheels and has got all lyxutrustning as one would expect of a car in its price range around a million dollars. Retailers in Sweden is Callisma who also have models from Aston Martin, Bentley and Koenigsegg in its showroom. The first four demo cars from Fisker will end in October and two of them are already sold. We expect to sell 70 cars in the first year. The target audience is primarily urban people who are not afraid of new technology, and do not want to compromise on comfort, quality and performance, says Mette von Schack, director of marketing at Callisma. Base price for the Fisker Karma is 989?? 000, but if you want extra kind of frippery that voice-controlled navigation system, rearview camera and sound system with subwoofer and 10 speakers ports price tag of 1.159 million dollars. The course is addressed to a group of financial resources. Maybe someone who does not think it's feasible to run a gas-guzzling sports car, but want something you can show up, but still have a clear conscience, says Mette von Schack. Later, Karma will also be offered with a diesel engine from BMW as range extender, which means that both fuel consumption and carbon sinks further.
