| Production of the MRJ was Started |

![]() Production of Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) has started on September 30th, 2010. Maiden flight is planned in 2012. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. began cutting aluminum part for the horizontal stabilizers based on an order placed by Mitsubishi Aircraft, which is developing the MRJ. The ceremony was held in MHI's Nagoya Aerospace Systems Works Oye Plant, where the metal-cut was conducted.
For the regional jet the size of MRJ, the demand for the next 20 years will be expected to be more than 5,000 units. This type of aircraft can accommodate between 70 and 100 passengers. The MRJ family consists of two classes; MRJ70 (70 seat class) and MRJ 90 (90 seat class).
