Russian Helicopters and engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney engine has solved the issue of helicopter Mi-38, which thus goes on sale 2013th

Mi-38 made its first test flight in 2003, when the Russian-built engine TV7-117V from Klimov. An alternative engine for customers in the western world would be supplied by Pratt & Whitney Canada, but the U.S. embargo regulations against Russia has put a spanner in the wheels for deliveries.

Now, however, the parties agree and Russian Helicopters can prepare for mass production. Two prototypes have conducted a series of test flights, a third prototype built by the Kazan helicopter plant in Tatarstan.

Mi-38 can carry up to 6 tons or 32 passengers. Twin engines provide a top speed of 300 km / h.

Competitors to the Mi-38 are such Euro-copter Super Puma EC225, Augusta Westland EH 101 and Sikorsky S-92.
