Airbus competitor to Boeing's Dreamliner will be further delayed. The first delivery period is now set to the first half of the 2014th. Airbus A350 XWB is just as Dreamliner to reduce operating costs for airlines. They get new efficient engines and are built to half of Carbon fiber. It will reduce energy consumption by 20 percent.
Unaccustomed to using such large amounts of carbon-fiber components of
the aircraft led to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner delayed for over three
years. Airbus has not given any reason for the delay for the A350. The
postponement of deliveries is expected to cost a few billion.
In connection with the reporting of third quarter results announced the
European aircraft manufacturer to put a production of the four-engine
plane A340. It's a plan that will compete with Boeing's long flight
777, which after an upgrade again interested airlines. A340 has however
not received an order for two years. The twin-engine version, the A330
is still there on the program.
How much better is it then for the smaller model A320. Airbus expects
to have signed an order for 1,500 new aircraft before the end of this
year compared to projected 1000 levels.
