First Superjet to customer Print E-mail

Armenian airline Armavia became the first customer to receive regional aircraft Suchoi Superjet 100, a joint project between East and West.
Two and a half years late, the project which aims to build a passenger plane for about 100 passengers, designed for medium distances of between 3000 km and 4500 km.

Black Hawk beat out Super Cougar Print E-mail

UPDATED Defense Materiel Administration has decided for the American Black Hawk helicopter. This means that the French charm offensive with Super Cougar came to naught.

Already last summer, word spread that the Defense Materiel Administration FMV was considering buying 15 pieces of Black Hawk from U.S. Sirkorsky Aircraft

Ericsson Helicopter has landed in Japan Print E-mail

Today, landing a helicopter with Ericsson staff and equipment needed to repair the excluded mobile networks in northern Japan.

Much of the mobile infrastructures in the Tohoku region in northern Japan were destroyed in the disaster for nearly three weeks ago.

Exactly how much of the mobile networks have been knocked out is still not known.

Jas to Libya Print E-mail

The Government wants to send eight Swedish Jas Gripen fighter planes and one Hercules planes to Libya. The decision was taken at an extraordinary Cabinet meeting shortly before lunch on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt informs visiting parliament of the decision and the government puts at the same time a propostion on the operation of parliament. At 14:30 he will give a press conference on the decision.

Secret space shuttle flies again Print E-mail

X-37B, U.S. Air Force's top secret unmanned space shuttle, has returned to orbit. On Saturday, shot up from the Cape Canaveral, carried by an Atlas V rocket.

This is a second copy of the space shuttle. The first was launched for the first time in April 2010 and ended 225 days later on the Vandenberg-field without greater problems than a flat tire on the runway.
