ESA's Committee on Industry and Procurement Policy held its last meeting of the EAC (European Astronaut Centre) just outside Cologne in Germany. During the two days discussed a number of issues with a very nice feature in the form of a guided tour of the facilities. ![]() In another part of the EAC are devices that represent the Columbus module and all related experiments on board. There is also a complete model of the ATV (Automated Transfer Vehicle), which is the craft that developed in Europe to transport supplies to the ISS. When ATV’s delivered cargo to the ISS since it used to take away garbage and other things that are not needed longer and burn up in the atmosphere, Finally, we visited also by Eurocom is Europe's equivalent of NASA's Capcom. So it is the function that allows communicating with astronauts aboard the ISS. The person who works as Eurocom is often a trained astronaut, astronauts, or any of the instructors with a good understanding of all systems and life aboard the ISS. |
