![]() Automation Region are looking for volunteers for a project with implanted RFID tags as a new wallet ... technically, it is no joke. During the skin of the arm is a chip that will let you pay in shops and on buses. It is one of this year's April Fool, but a fully viable idea. The Automation Region, a regional cooperation oriented organization, which in a newsletter and on its website looking for volunteers for a project with so-called RFID tags which are worn on the body. "The actual tag is only slightly larger than the tip of a pencil and is meant to be placed under the skin of the user's right arm. During the tests currently planned will be the tag to be attached in one patch," it says in the newsletter. Possibly taking any suspicions as interested are invited to come to the City Hotel April 1. Technically, it is no joke. RFID is a wireless technology used in; inter aria, access cards and RFID tags placed already in the skin of pets for identification markings. And some years there are cards where, instead of interface communicates with the chip via RFID. Cards swept in front of the payment terminal and are used in Britain. The function is the same as with the contact less cards used as season tickets on buses. The type of chip that is needed is thus already, and similar chips have already been placed under the skin of humans. What is lacking in Sweden's payment terminals for reading RFID-enabled payment cards, but they are thus already in place in Britain. |
