QR code for mobile can save lives
Now you can attach a code on your mobile which leads to a page with your contact information. That way you can facilitate rescue personnel work.

A sticker on the back of the phone you can see that you get the right care and the ambulance crew can reach your loved ones. But any time the rescue teams have a smartphone.

"Put your immediate family using your mobile phone address book under the name ICE (In Case of Emergency)." It recommends SOS Alarm on his website. But if the key lock turned on, a flat battery or if the cell phone is broken in an accident is the data is not accessible.  One solution may be small stickers with codes that lead to the same information, although stored in a cloud service online.

The codes are common QR codes, the unique is that they lead to a page where you can enter data. In addition to contacts one can have it on diseases, medications, or serious allergies.

For this to work will save staff time to have a smartphone with an app that can scan QR codes. There are free apps to download in online their corporate web design .

The alternative is an older mobile with camera and Internet supplemented by a java program.

Behind the technology is the little Lund company Scan Tags.

We create and then QR codes in advance with a patent-pending technology, said Rikard Windh, Managing Director of Scan Tags.

After a few months back sold ICE tags through two Swedish online retailers. The company is also in advanced negotiations with an insurance company. The idea is that the stickers will be given as an extra service to their customers.

Police who we have spoken with have also been positive. Among other things, it happened that they have believed that unconscious diabetics have been heavily intoxicated.

At SOS Alarm is one positive to the new technology assisted living tools , but believes it is too early to go out with a general recommendation to put the codes on the phone's back.

But we think it is an interesting technology and security-building innovation, says Anders Klarstrom, press spokesman at SOS Alarm.

The challenge for the company is now getting into the product's use in more areas. Appliances that are tagged to you should be able felanmala, or debug, by linking it to a Web service is one of many options being discussed.

It is only by your imagination. Anyone can find applications without knowing anything about the technology behind it, says Rikard Windh.
