The world's largest memory card type SD now stores 64 gigabytes.
Now Toshiba has presented such that stores 64 gigabytes. It will start
to be sold next year and follows the new standard SDXC that support
memory capacities up to two terabytes.
This means that the cards are not directly compatible with the cameras that are now sold.
It is, however, two other new memory card that also promoted by
Toshiba. They are type SDHC and holds 16 and 32 gigabytes. Though they
should be on the market by spring 2010,
Common to both the new SDXC and SDHC cards is that the speed of
transmission of data is increased substantially. They should be able to
write 35 megabytes per second and read 60 megabytes per second.

What the new cards will cost will depend on the market price of flash memory when the cards come on the market.
