Nikon D3100

The new sensor puts an end to the career of 10-megapixel CCD which was used on many Nikon cameras, entry-level since 2006. The latter who was already considered "average" in the world of SLR sensor hiding from bad to worse his age to compete and even facing the Nikon D5000 a bit more. The new 14 megapixel CMOS sensor, although with smaller photo-sites should allow a much improved picture quality, especially in low light point low its predecessor.

But that's not all. This new sensor offers the D3100 features a number of increasingly present in the SLR world, namely a design on screen and video the "old" sensors could not afford a prolonged exposure to light under penalty of a tarnished image, the CMOS, make significantly more resistant no problems shooting very long.
