Unknown wind power company wants to expand in southern Sweden Print E-mail

An unknown company, HS Kraft, plans to build 226 new wind farms in Skåne and Småland. - It will generate as many terawatt that all wind power in Sweden produced together in 2007, says CEO, Magnus Grill.

Spade can be put in the ground already this year for one of Sweden's largest wind energy ever.

The 226 wind turbines that are planned will provide a total of 1.3 TWh, as much as all the wind power generated in Sweden two years ago, according to Magnus Grill, who is president of HS Kraft, a company that was started three years ago in Malmo.

The project to build 20 wind farms is one billion business. Yesterday was HS Kraft an agreement with the Swiss trading company EGL, Elektrizitäts-Gesällschaft Laufenburg AG. A company that not only go in financially but have extensive experience in power generation, according to Magnus Grill. EGL, becomes majority owner of the company with 51.6 percent.

- This is an important agreement that we become a major player in the wind, "he says.

The 20 wind farms will include built in Kristianstad and Hässleholm municipalities. A number of works are also planned in Smaland Mille Torp.

No works will be built at sea or in sea.

HS's concept is to work with the landowners, which permits their land for wind power stations.

- They may lease income and may also be involved and to share investments and returns, "says Magnus Grill.

Technical companies are well advanced and detailed planning is ready to begin.
