The energy gadgetry uses whilst in standby mode has become a hot topic in our increasingly energy-ware times and, add into the equation that ‘green’ technology is becoming an evermore financially lucrative market, its not hard to see why the number of gadgets that have been developed to serve to help us conserve resources (and money) is escalating at a rapid rate and now, enter stage left, joining the ranks of eco-aware technology (such are the previously featured Wattson) we have this TrickleStar USB Standby Power Saver to all to our collection.

Aimed specifically at cutting down on the standby power usage
of computer peripherals, the TrickleStar USB Standby Power Saver works
by connecting to your PC (via USB, in case you hadn’t gathered) as well
as a power strip (into which you plug your peripherals) and works to
continuously monitor your PC’s power status. Should the TrickleStar USB
Standby Power Saver establish that yourPC is switched off it’ll duly
cut the power to the aforementioned power strip thereby switching all
your peripherals off – regardless of whether they’re in standby mode or
not. Naturally, in case you’re wondering, once you power you’re PC up
again the TrickleStar USB Standby Power Saver will accordingly let the
juice run free once again.
A simple idea in the extreme,
granted, but undoubtedly effective and ideal for people who are so busy
conserving their own energy levels that they couldn’t possibly do it
for themselves, the TrickleStar USB Standby Power Saver is set for
release in January (’09) for an as yet undisclosed price.
