| Replace your 60-watt light bulb |

Sweden's most common light bulb ban on a september. Ny Engineering has reviewed the alternatives to the old 60-watt machine. In two weeks it is time to say goodbye to 60-watt switch, the market's best-selling light bulb.
September 1, they may not manufacture in the EU or imported here. Now
the question is what to focus on instead: halogen, low-or maybe LED
lamps, LED?
Developments in LEDs have been rapid, and today there are LED lights on
around 12 watts to replace 60-watt light bulbs on the market. But none
of the three lighting experts Ny Teknik contacted intend to buy one now.
Sure, there are lights that are really good. But they are far too
expensive, says Jan Ejhed, professor of lighting design at KTH.
The price of several hundred dollars per bulb stings extra if you have a
lot of light bulbs that need replacing. According to lighting
companies earn one while the extra cost by a wide margin because of
lower elnota and longer life.
But Per Olof Kvist Hede, a researcher at the Swedish Technical Research
Institute SP, find it difficult to know that the lights really are for
example, 25 000 hours, 25 times longer than an incandescent bulb. The
cooling and drive electronics are two factors that can crack the lights
early. No European standard for determining the life are not, but to
meet customers' concerns, several manufacturers started to offer some
year warranty on lamps.
A much cheaper alternative is halogen. They give a light similar to
incandescent bulbs, but energy savings will be "only" 30 percent. This
means that halogen lamps probably banned in the EU tightens requirements
in 2016.
Halogen lamps are a good place now, even if it is a temporary solution.
I use them at home for mysbelysning. Where I need more light I choose
CFLs, says Per Olof Kvist Hede.
Energy saving lamp provides a high energy, up to 80 percent compared to
the bulb. But Magnus Frantzell, president of the lighting industry,
points out that the quality of light varies greatly among different
lamps. The same applies to the time before the light comes on.
Therefore, I advise everyone to look at the lamp in the shop before
purchase. The proliferation of quality is very high, he says.
A major stumbling block is that they contain the toxic heavy metal
mercury. Therefore, they must be submitted to the recycling center when
they are discarded.
Dimension can also be a problem. The lamp may not fit in the luminaries or rising out of the screen.
Everyone in the industry sees energy saving lamp as an aside, says Jan Ejhed.
But there is actually a fourth option if you want the very latest in lighting: OLED, organic light emitting diode.
The first pig expensive OLED luminaries have appeared on the market this
year. The "cheapest" fixtures will cost several hundred dollars, the
most expensive ones can go on 100 000.
OLED panels are made up of two thin films that act as electrodes.
Between the films is an organic material that emits light when
stimulated by a stream.
In theory, the technology can be used to make wallpaper that makes the
walls and ceiling lighting to surfaces, and many hope that the
technology will become the future of energy efficient light sources.
Lighting Giants as Osram and Philips as well as smaller newcomers make big bets.
