![]() Very light in homes and on the streets is a trend that continues. At the same time another development. Since 1 September 2009 and April 1 this year, the bulbs and other inefficient lighting started to be phased out from our homes, offices, roads and industries, to be replaced by more efficient alternatives. The change is due to the Ecodesign Directive, the EU legislation that sets basic requirements for energy efficiency in energy-related products. Today's lighting is based largely on old technology, although there is much more effective solutions. All lighting available in our homes, schools, offices industry and roads account for 10 percent of the total electricity consumption in Sweden - 14 TWh per year. At the same time estimated the total savings potential for lighting to be of 6 TWh per year, equivalent to almost all energy used per year in Stockholm all villas. But the course also provides some heat, many people believe. Yes, but the problem is that often it is heat, we do not need. The heat becomes an unnecessary supplement, often venting. There are also low light with the new options, consider the skeptics. The issue is highly relevant, for all we have enough experience with bad energy saving bulbs, which glows with a dull glow. CFL’s have evolved tremendously since they first became popular. Here comes one of the features of the ecodesign. Except that the lights are energy efficient, are also requirements on such color and life. This means that the lamps of low quality are now prohibited, even if they are energy efficient. State the point is different. This is a new and exciting technology, which promises high efficiency, long life and which can be designed and controlled in new ways. But part covered the time being only part of the eco-design, and a lot of research and development remains before the technique can be considered mature. I sold because both good and bad point-lights and it is not easy to determine which is which. One tip is to try to store the lamp before purchase, and to ensure that you can replace if it breaks early. The future looks promising, the more reasons than purely technical. New research shows that light on humans is more complex than we previously understood. In 2002 discovered a third receptor in the eye without the imaging characteristics, linked to the regulation of several hormones that are important for the body's circadian rhythms and health. Therefore, it is not only light sources per se that are important, but above all how they are used. The ability to dynamically control such as light output and color temperature, opens up entirely new and exciting opportunities for better lighting in our environment. There can point to play a major role. It has the old static light bulb could not; it will be possible with modern energy-efficient technologies. |
