| Chinese wind power to sixth in Sweden |

![]() 5 of the world's 15 largest wind energy companies are from China. Now I want one of the Chinese giants in Sweden. It is Sinovel, showing great interest in the Swedish market, as reported to the New Technology. "We have been in contact with Sinovel and more other Chinese manufacturers in our contracts, but Sinovel has not contacted us," says Ingegerd Bills, Communications Vattenfall Wind Power The Chinese company is growing rapidly. A few years ago, Sinovel over first place in the domestic market from Gold Wind and now ranks number three in the world of consulting company Make Consulting. Sinovel has supplied all the turbines for China's first offshore wind projects, Shanghai Donghai Bridge outside Shanghai on China's east coast. These are of 34 turbines of 3 MW. The company also manufactures turbines of 1.5 MW and is developing right now a new turbine to 5MW for land and offshore wind farms. Turbines of 1.5 MW and 3 MW are manufactured under license from the German Fuhrlander. The new, larger turbine is a custom design. The information thus far made public shows that China last year became the world's largest wind power market and that there are 5 Chinese companies among the 15 largest in the world. According BTMS competitor Husband, this is Sinovel, Gold Wind, Dong Fang, United Power and Ming-yang. In total there are now over 50 manufacturers of large wind turbines in China. Approximately 80-90 percent of production is sold within its borders, but several of the large now wants to expand abroad. |
