Quick and inexpensive analysis of your genome, that’s what researchers worldwide are trying to find a technique to achieve. The solution could be the DNA-transistor as a researcher at computer giant IBM is working on.

But it is not an ordinary transistor, rather on a silicon chip with nanometersma pores where the entire DNA strands pass and read by without having to cut into small pieces. The challenge is to control the passage so that it goes at a speed that makes the reading time to be made.

According to scientists, the technology can make it possible to complete genanalyser for between 700 and 7 000 kronor. There is a substantial cost reduction compared with SEK 250 000 it costs today. To say nothing of the first genanalyserna which went 21 billions
