A massive explosion occurred on Saturday morning, Swedish time in the Japanese nuclear power plant in Fukushima Daiichi in northeastern Japan. According to the roof of a reactor have been blown off and a radioactive leak of unknown proportions have occurred.

The building of a reactor is reported to have collapsed, the roof have flown by and the bursting of the walls. What remains is a smoldering metal skeleton. Authorities evakurerar now living in an area of two mil from the nuclear plant.

The New York Times today lunchtime Swedish time has been a radioactive leak of unknown proportions occurred. Four people were reported to be injured in the blast and one of them will have been exposed to radiation of about 100 millisieverts, according to the newsletter Nucnet. There are five times more than the maximum annual doses of radiation to which an employee at a Swedish nuclear plant may be exposed to.

The authorities in Japan, worked with me to evacuate thousands of residents within a mile radius from Daiichi nuclear power plant in Fukoskima, about 25 km from Tokyo, when the huge explosion suddenly occurred, and tore up large clouds of smoke in the sky.

In there now industrial dispensing systems are fully down and need to build up newly liquid metering and mixing nozzle .

Relieves the pressure
The owner of the nuclear power plant, Tokyo Electric Power Company, had previously reported in press releases that had problems to handle an increasing pressure in the reactor 1, 2 and 3 of Daiichi.

It also wrote that the cooling water around the core of the reactor 1 was set to come down as a result of critical injuries on cooling after the earthquake last Friday.

It also said that it "took steps to reduce the pressure in the reactor as the Japanese government's instruction."

Since the unusually high radiation levels measured outside the plant tried to employees likely to reduce the pressure in the reactor by the controlled manner, release of radioactive steam outside the plant. The authorities also went out earlier today and warned of small radioactive discharges into the environment.

The Japanese government spokesman Yukio Edana today, Saturday, confirmed that an explosion occurred in Daiichi nuclear power plant and said that authorities are working to investigate the circumstances.

Daiichi nuclear power plant has a total of six reactors. Three shut down automatically after the quake, while three were closed for maintenance reasons, according to Tokyo Electric Power.

The risk of new explosions
Meanwhile, the earthquake in the region followed by many and relatively strong aftershocks, one of more than 6 on the Richter scale.

The company also writes on its web that the pressure also increases in several other reactor inclusions in Daini nuclear power plant, also located in Fukoshima. Among other things, said refrigerant, which will alleviate the pressure, leak into the reactor total.

In three of the four reactors in Daini said staff also have taken steps in accordance with government instructions.

It is thus likely that you are trying to reduce the pressure in these inclusions by releasing radioactive steam. It fails to remove heat from the inclusions may thus be a danger of more explosions. Meanwhile it has also problems with the cooling system for the reactor core.

The earthquake was scram reactors. At the same time said power outages have occurred and backup systems have been damaged. Reportedly, the 13 diesel generators stopped working.
