![]() Solar Power Inverters, cardboard pallets and additive manufacturing. Here is some of the news among automation stuff. Boxes in layers: Norwegian Hatteland Logistics has developed a compact warehouse and picking system, Auto Store. Layer is made of plastic boxes that are stacked directly on each other in an aluminum frame. They collected and delivered to the picking station of a robot trolley mounted on aluminum truss. By the crates stacked compact, without aisles or shelves, used maximum storage space. In Sweden the system is sold by among other elements, Logic, and Swiss-log. More solar power for ABB At ABB foresees a growing demand for solar technology. The company has opened a new factory for solar inverters in Estonia, with an annual capacity of 400 megawatts. The inverters convert direct current from solar panels into alternating current that can be entered online. The company has also built its own solar power plant adjacent to the factory. The takomonterade plant is 25 kilowatts and will be used for testing and demonstration. Full systems are controlled by Industrial computer . Lightweight pallet of cardboard Paperboard made from recycled paper, is the material in a new pallet, developed by Dutch firm Faber Halbertsma Group. It is available with advertising and is said to withstand the elements and be resistant to mildew. High impact of free forms Additive manufacturing is now being used increasingly not only for rapid prototyping but also for the manufacture of finished components. A new friformsmaterial, a form of electrically conductive ABS plastic, sold by Protech AB. It is intended for applications requiring protection against static discharge, such as fixtures for use in the electronics industry. Green giant skimp on electricity Swedish Ursviken is known for their big brakes. To the end of launches, a new generation, this draws far less electricity than before the time poor. The secret is that the electric motor, which operates the hydraulic pressure, is frequency controlled and wind down when the press is in standby mode. It also offers other advantages, including lower oil temperatures. Boxes in layers Norwegian Hatteland Logistics has developed a compact warehouse and picking system, Auto Store.
