It's not just apps that take from the mobile world and onto the shop floor. The industry is also starting to open their eyes to Google's mobile operating system Android.
It is incredibly exciting. So far, the automotive industry the most advanced. Several manufacturers build their new infotainment system on Android, said Robert Niemi, an expert on Android on program.

We choose between multiple operating systems, but the choice fell on
Android for several reasons. It's simple, which reduces development
time. It is also open source, good documentation and quality, says

The new system consists of a vest with various built-in modules for communication, and maps. In mid-September, it demonstrated for the first time at a defense trade show in London.
